Practising English qualified Barrister of Law specialising in construction and commercial contract law and having years of dispute resolution experience ranging from ad-hoc adjudication to international arbitration, primarily gained in the UK and Middle East.
Jonathan has experience of commercial and construction disputes arising under various forms of contract including FIDIC, ICE, and IChemE. He regularly acts in connection with construction contract disputes, particularly in arbitration, internationally and domestically.
His clients include public and private sector employers, investors, banks, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
- Acting as lead counsel in a QAR 150 million construction contract arbitration in Qatar, and governed by the law of Qatar, under the ICC rules.
- Lead counsel for a US$80 million dispute under a bespoke English/Arabic contract in arbitration under the ICC rules, seated in Dubai.
- Lead counsel defending the employer in English High Court proceedings regarding an incinerator construction project in Saudi Arabia which involved complex bond issues and worldwide freezing orders.
- Representing a claimant contractor in a multi-million Euro power station dispute under a bespoke contract in mediation.
